“Haldiram” a name associated with discerning consumers for sweets and namkeens for the past six decades in India and abroad. It made its modest start, way back in 1941 in Bikaner, in the state of Rajasthan. The brand name Haldiram Bhujiawala was introduced by Late Sri Rameshwar Lal Agarwal, son of Late Sri Ganga Bishan Agarwal in kolkata in 1958. First major step was taken in this direction by opening up a shop in 1958 in Burrabazar, the commercial hub of Calcutta. The prime focus was to serve traditional Indian sweets and namkeens amongst consumers directly and through the trade.
Encouraged by the tremendous response of consumers, Haldiram decided to go for technology up gradation in production and packing with the installation of plant and machinery of best available state of the rat technology and sophistication though dint of hard work, complete dedication and uncompromising quality Haldiram become part of each family. In 1991, when Haldiram turned itself into a group segment under the proprietorship of Mr. Mahesh Agarwal as the firm m/s Pratik food products, a highly sophisticated manufacturing center was established at 58, Chowrringhee road, Kolkata 700071. Also a showroom was set up at the above premises for across the conter sale, which was a runaway success.
